The International Engineering Consortium's (IEC's) Broadband World Forum Asia Closed with More Than 4500 Registrants, More Than 200 Industry Press, More Than 300 Speakers and Cutting-Edge Exhibition Floor

Chicago – June 15, 2007 – The International Engineering Consortium's (IEC's) Broadband World Forum Asia 2007 closed last week with more than 4500 registrants from 65 countries around the globe. Nearly 300 speakers and 200 industry media joined key industry vendors at the China World Hotel at China World Trade Center with China Netcom as the official host sponsor.

Government leaders from Ministry of Information Industry (MII), the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) spoke at the Opening Ceremony, which also included a colorful dragon dance and a powerful Olympic-themed presentation.

"The world is looking towards Beijing as it prepares for the upcoming Olympics and we were proud to showcase and discuss some of the information and communications technologies that spectators will take advantage of during the Games," commented IEC President John Janowiak. "With all the new cutting-edge technologies in place such as the ones we presented here at the BBWF Asia, everyone will have an opportunity to share information like never before in real time."

Keynoters included major industry players such as World Forum Chair Chunjiang Zhang, chairman of the board and president of China Network Communications Group Corporation; Mr. Xun Sheng Zuo, executive director and chief executive officer of China Netcom; Mr. Alex Deng, senior vice president of Huawei Technologies, Mr. Tony Park, vice president of The9; Mr. Alex Arena, executive director and group managing director of PCCW Limited; and Asia Netcom's chief executive officer, Mr. Bill Barney.

Hundreds of attendees listened to Chairman Zhang and Mr. Zuo discuss the growth of broadband and innovation in mainland China as well as learned of Mr. Deng and Mr. Arena's expertise in the industry. Mr. Park shared his insight on content delivery and Mr. Barney addressed the "changing face of the Internet" in Asia and expanded on the Broadband Olympics.

The Broadband Content Forum premiered at the Broadband World Forum Asia 2007 featuring content providers such as The Walt Disney Company, Yahoo Studios, NBC Universal, Walt Disney Internet Group (WDIG), CINEA, India Games, Dragonback Media Interactive Sdn Bhd, Mojiti.com, THQ, DAVE Networks and more. This new forum provided education, information, insights and solutions for a range of developments critical to all players in the "content delivery" supply chain.

The InfoVision Awards also took place again this year recognizing the top broadband products and services in deployment in the entire Asia-Pacific region. Eighteen of the industry's top innovators took home a prestigious product award.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony also took place where Mr. Janowiak and Mr. Zuo welcomed attendees and press to the floor.
